Wizard of Oz to be remade???

nothing could ever come close to the original....remake it if you want hollywood, but there is too much class in that classic to ever have competition...

The wizard of Oz.........is something that one can't "remake"....it IS perfection............is what so many of us grew up with in our hearts.........pretty much a staple in some of our lives.

I for one, would NOT, see it, only cuz it would ruin the beauty of the original.

i never really cared for the first one... and
with the 'recent' release of mcfarlane's new
OZ figures, i half expected a remake to come from
behind the shadows... literally.
like the OZ figures, i expected a twisted remake...
something a bit more macabre.

i dunno....

nicole kidman has no place in the wizard as the
witch with that voice of hers... unless its
glinda. i can see murray as the lion... but as
i've said it before...i'm rather sick of seeing
well-known actors snatching up all the prime
roles. i'd like to see some new faces.

omg Blazey i actually love adam sandler too..he was one of my favorites on Saturday night live.
I watch all the movies of SNL cast that have gone on.....
most people say they are stupid movies, but i feel like i enjoy seeing those "stupid movies" cuz they make me laugh my ass off.
And i like his songs *G*

I agree with you Shatzy about new faces coming to the screen.
It's like, how can we keep seeing the same faces over and over and not only get tired of them , but how can we NOT type cast them.
Funny you said that about Nicole Kidman and the witch.
I was thinking of her voice too, and the only thought i had was,,,,,,that she would HAVE to play Glynda.cuz of her voice.......
If she is gonna play the bad witch, i REALLY just don't see it.....cuz of her voice *L*

I watched an interview with Pierce Brosnan on TV last night, with him talking about future plans...

It seems that he's in the running to play the Wizard in a remake of the classic film - apparently he wants to play something very different from Bond, and doesn't want to get typecast *L

Some of the other details are interesting too - Scarlett Johansson is lined up to play Dorothy, Bill Murray may be the Lion, John Cusack the Scarecrow, and Adam Sandler the Tinman...

And - Heaven forbid - Nicole Kidman is said to be interested in playing the Witch... [img]confused.gif[/img]

Surely, film-makers can't be allowed to tamper with perfection??? [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img]
